About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you`ll hold a core role within our Engineering Team.
The Engineering team provides technical expertise and guidance to operational, project delivery and hydrogen asset development teams to drive regulatory compliance and ensure our assets are fit for purpose.
You will be supporting; the development of quality requirements, technical specifications, troubleshooting of asset quality issues and managing the quality planning, control and assurance of suppliers for pressure vessels, piping and fittings. You will be working closely with the rest of the engineering team, project, procurement and supply chain teams.
Key accountabilities will include:
· Developing procurement quality requirements for pressure vessel equipment including heat exchangers, filters, pressure regulating skid units, valves and other static equipment
· Investigating quality issues with equipment, working with subject matter experts, operational teams and suppliers to constructively resolve
· Planning and undertaking quality audits of key suppliers Inspection and Test Plans, via desktop reviews and supplier manufacturing visits
· Managing outputs from quality audits and reviews of suppliers, proactively working challenges towards effective solutions for all stakeholders
· Proactively participating in the continuous improvement of supplier quality management processes
· Working closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure framework suppliers are delivering to expectations
· Identifying and promoting best practice with operational and delivery teams, driving standardisation across the company
· Supporting stakeholders with delivery of solutions for assets requiring remediation following inspection, maintenance and surveillance activities
About You
You’ll possess the majority of the following qualifications, skills and experience:
· Experience with pressure equipment such as vessels and heat exchangers, either within a gas transmission, distribution, oil and gas, process or petrochemical operator environment or as a quality, application or manufacturing engineer at a main equipment manufacturer, design consultancy or notified body
· Knowledge of and practical application using design codes for pressure vessels i.e. ASME, PD5500, etc.
· Good understanding of application and compliance to pressure equipment directive (PED 2014/68/EU) and manufacturing assurance conformity assessments i.e. UKCA, CE
· Experience with piping and gas carrying equipment, either within a gas transmission, distribution, oil and gas, process or petrochemical operator environment or as application engineer (or similar) at an operating company, design company, distributor, manufacturing mill or other
· Fabrication experience in either engineering support and/or quality role related to the design, manufacturing of pressure systems
· Undertaken the quality planning, control and assurance of pressure vessels, piping, skid packages or similar assets
