As an Operations Engineer, you will be on the front line of gas transmission on our network. You’ll be responsible for network alarm monitoring and interrogation, as well as authorising site works to facilitate the delivery of maintenance and contributing the effective delivery of complex operations.
You will contribute to the development of within day and day ahead physical strategies. You’ll be liaising with site engineers, our customers, stakeholders, and colleagues around the network on a daily basis.
This position is a safety critical role for which you’ll be required to achieve safety and technical competence before being assigned responsibilities. To ensure competence of our Operations Engineers, we provide 1:1 training, giving the confidence and support needed to carry out this pivotal safety critical role.
Please note this role is based in our Warwick office with no scope for remote working and the role is subject to a full shift rota (including night shifts, bank holidays and weekends) published well in advance to enable work life balance. Therefore, the role attracts a 26% shift allowance on top of the base salary.
The ideal candidate will have a recognised engineering or technical qualification (degree level) or equivalent, in an appropriate engineering/numerate discipline preferred. They will have an Engineering Council accreditation (EngTech or IEng) or be working towards.
As a Operations Engineer, you will have great communication skills and is experienced in building sustainable relationships with customers and / or stakeholders, an ability to use logic to solve problems and keen to learn with the ability to work well under pressure and remain calm.
