GTC are part of a family of companies owned by BUUK Infrastructure group and we are currently recruiting for a Gas Networks Director. This full-time position reports into our Head Office in Woolpit, Suffolk however we do offer flexible working.

 

In this role you will be responsible for the continued fitness for purpose and efficient operation and continued use of our gas networks through innovation and promotion of low carbon technologies such as hydrogen. You will also be responsible for the management of legacy Clancy Docwra and ESP project build outs on behalf of Inexus.

 

The incumbent must hold a suitable recognised engineering qualification and be a Chartered Engineer registered with IGEM as either full Member or Fellow. The incumbent must have had significant experience in similar work.

 

The incumbent must have a working knowledge of current Legislation, Technical Standards & Specifications, Codes of Practice and Recommendations relating to Gas Distribution Systems and be aware of the implications of those to the safe management of gas flow.

 

Knowledge and experience of the construction, operation and maintenance of water networks would be an advantage.

 

Training on our systems and the company will be provided.

Responsibilities will include -

  • Ensuring new gas networks and meters are designed fit for purpose
  • Ensuring existing gas networks and meter installations are maintained and examined in compliance with industry standards, within budget
  • Maintain the GPL and IPL gas safety cases
  • Oversee on HSE intervention visits and gas industry compliance
  • Ensuring GTC GIRS, Gas Safe and MAMCoP accreditation is maintained
  • Manage the formal out of hours national standby and participate as appropriate (as a minimum be available on a best endeavours basis to represent GTC in a gas emergency if so required)
  • Provide technical support to GTC Sales, GTC Design, GTC Construction and UIPs as required
  • Liaise with senior and local representatives of third party organisations e.g. Cadent/GDNs, National Grid, UIPs, Highway Agencies, Developers, HSE, BEIS EA/EPA, IGEM, Ofgem etc. as required
  • Ensure company gas engineering and quality standards are current
  • Ensure GTC’s gas records are updated in a timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure the Clancy construction contract is efficiently managed
  • Ensure that any AV payments due from ESP are claimed in a timely manner
  • Development of innovative gas engineering solutions and Hydrogen technology

 

Other duties as defined by the Managing Director - Assets, that fall within the general experience and/or scope of the candidate
