If so, we would love to hear from you!We currently have an opportunity for a Commercial heating to be part of our dedicated team in Cambridge.The Role:Working as part of a local team you will be undertaking high standard Plumbing and Heating related repairs and Testing and Inspection activities to commercial, residential and public buildings delivering best in class customer service and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.Who are we?Mears is one of the UK’s leading housing providers to both the public and private sector, with over 6,500 employees, working with clients to help develop, fund and implement their placemaking ambitions.This role will be based at our fabulous new campus location working internally and externally on a variety of projects here on site in North West Cambridge. The new development consists of a school, nursery, community centre, offices, flats and private residential houses.What the Role involves:To ensure all Plumbing and Heating related work is carried out to BS6700, relevant O&M manuals and Statutory requirements.Carry out Inspection and Testing (PPMs) on ALL plumbing and heating related assets, ensuring all results are accurate and complete and to maintain all paperwork and electronic data records relevant to the work carried out and to ensure completion of the job is confirmed and a comprehensive and accurate history is available for audit purposes, which includes quality, H&S issues and for invoicing purposes.Ensure all remedial works are raised with clear explanation in the notes on the requirement.Prepare reports on fault diagnoses and recommendations to rectify the relevant fault.To seek authorisation from relevant office-based approver before proceeding if work required differs from works order, and document in full any additional works carried out to ensure correct invoicing can be applied.Take ownership in undertaking construction, fault finding and maintenance repairs aiming for a first time completion whilst remaining within budget and time parameters. Ensure that the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with service users, clients, and both internal/external stakeholders This includes but is not limited to appearance, company ID, condition of vehicles and maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements. It may be necessary where requested to obtain Customer feedback on completion of works.Process all activities in association with tasks/works electronically utilising a hand held device (PDA). This includes but not limited to Worksheets, timesheets, photographic evidence of works before – during – after, van stock replenishment, booking of annual leave, vehicle inspections, safeguarding issues, risk assessments and method statements.Keep all supplied company assets in a good condition in line with the company policies and report to your Supervisor/Manager where damages occur.Utilise existing stock or collect materials as and when required to meet works order requirements, in accordance with standard operating procedures for purchasing and van stock control compliance.To attend informal and formal meetings and training sessions to ensure up to date business and job knowledge, communication, skills & progression are maintained. This includes but is not limited to training, re-training, toolbox talks, 1:1’s, probation reviews etc.To highlight any safeguarding concerns to your line manager within branch as early as possible to ensure they liaise with the client in accordance with the safeguarding policy.Participate in call out cover if and when required to ensure contract compliance & service user satisfaction for emergency repairsWhat you need to have:NVQ or City and Guilds qualification in Plumbing and Heating, Gas Safe qualified or wanting to progress to a Gas Qualification would also be advantageousExperienced in working in Commercial Plant Rooms or Worked on multi-site operation in a Facilities Management environment. Worked on District Heating SystemsGood written & verbal communication skills. Numeracy skills. Able to understand & follow standard operating procedures.
