Field Service Commercial Gas Engineer

Are you an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer looking for a varied field service role with full product training, excellent benefits and the opportunity to work on specialist commercial heating systems?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering manufacturer for a Field Service Commercial Gas Engineer to join their growing service team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with bespoke heating systems, commercial boilers and associated control equipment across Scotland, North Yorkshire and occasionally throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Role

As a Field Service Commercial Gas Engineer, you'll be responsible for the installation, commissioning, servicing and repair of specialist commercial heating systems, working closely with the technical support team to ensure customers receive an exceptional level of service.

This is a field-based role covering predominantly Scotland and North Yorkshire, with occasional travel further afield when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, commission, service and repair commercial heating systems and boilers up to 600kW.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and control system faults.
• Fault find on relay logic and PLC-based control systems.
• Complete service reports and associated documentation accurately and on time.
• Deliver outstanding customer service during site visits.
• Identify opportunities for product and service improvements.
• Provide technical feedback to support product development and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
• Work collaboratively with internal engineering and technical teams.
• Participate in ongoing product and technical training.

About You

We're looking for someone with strong commercial gas servicing experience who enjoys working independently while delivering a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience servicing, maintaining and fault finding on commercial gas boilers.
• Commercial Gas Qualifications including:

  • CIGA1
  • CENWAT
  • COCN1
  • CPA1
  • ICPN1
  • TPCP1A

• Full UK driving licence.
• Current CSCS Card (or equivalent).
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Desirable

• Knowledge of HVAC systems.
• Experience working with electrical control systems.
• PLC fault-finding experience.
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
• Engineering apprenticeship, HNC or equivalent qualification.
• Competent using Microsoft Office and digital reporting systems.
