About the Role

:

We’re looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Gas Engineer to join our team in Aberdeen delivering high-quality gas servicing, repairs, and installations across our clients’ housing stock. Your role will be vital in ensuring that all gas appliances and systems are safe, compliant, and fit for continued use.

You’ll carry out a range of domestic gas works including boiler diagnostics, repairs, servicing, and installations. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential, as your work directly impacts the wellbeing of residents, staff, and the wider public. You’ll be expected to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out servicing, repairs, and installations of domestic gas appliances including boilers, cookers, and firesDiagnose faults and complete remedial works efficiently and safelyPerform landlord gas safety inspections and issue certificates (CP12s)Ensure all work complies with current gas regulations and internal proceduresRespond to emergency call-outs and urgent repairs when requiredRecord all work completed using handheld devices or job management systemsLiaise with tenants, housing officers, and internal teams to ensure clear communicationMaintain van stock levels and order materials as neededIdentify and report any safeguarding concerns or property hazardsWork collaboratively with other trades to complete multi-skill jobsParticipate in toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety briefingsEnsure PPE is worn and health & safety procedures are followed at all timesSupport apprentices or junior engineers when required

Key Criteria

Qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Gas Installation and MaintenanceHold valid ACS certification (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1)Experience in domestic boiler servicing, fault diagnosis, and installationGood understanding of electrical safe isolation and basic wiring principlesKnowledge of current gas safety legislation and compliance standardsExperience working in social housing or local authority environments (preferred)Excellent communication skills with a customer-focused approachAbility to work independently and as part of a teamComfortable using handheld devices or digital job management systemsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safe working practicesFlexible and willing to travel across properties and attend out-of-hours calloutsFull UK driving licence
