Gas Engineer

Job Description

Gas Engineer - Social Housing

Local Patch | Proper Support | No Burnout

This isn't about chasing the highest wage.

It's about finishing the day knowing the job was done properly and the people you helped are safe and warm.

If you've worked in social housing, you'll know the difference between:

  • a contract that grinds you down
  • and one that's actually set up to work

This Housing Association falls into the second camp.

They plan sensibly.

They don't overload diaries.

And the managers have actually done the job themselves - so they get it.

You'll cover Devon, South Somerset and parts of Dorset.

Local patch.

No daft travel.

No impossible schedules.

Just consistent, well-managed work in residents' homes.

What the role looks like day to day

  • Servicing and breakdowns in domestic properties
  • Installations when required
  • Working in social housing homes - not private churn
  • Managing your own diary, backed by a strong scheduling team
  • Max 1 hour travel from where you live
  • 1 in 10 call-out rota

You're trusted to do the job properly - not rushed from one fire to the next.

The package (solid, not flashy)

  • £44,000 basic
  • Monday-Friday, 40hr week
  • 36 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • 10% pension contribution
  • Fully equipped new van, tools & PPE
  • Buy & sell holiday scheme
  • Ongoing training & development

It's designed for people who want stability, not endless overtime.

What you'll need

  • Gas Safe registered
  • ACS: CCN1, CEN1, HTR1, CKR1
  • Experience in domestic residential
  • NVQ level 3

If you're at the stage where:

  • you still care about doing a good job but you're tired of being pushed harder every year…this is worth a conversation.

No pressure.

No hard sell.
